John Mellencamp's son Speck Mellencamp gets six months probation and has to perform community service following July arrest in Bloomington.

BLOOMINGTON, IN -- Speck Mellencamp, son of rock star John Mellencamp has been ordered to serve nearly six months of probation and perform 25 hours of community service after pleading guilty to public intoxication for his July arrest in Bloomington, AP News reports. The news outlet reports police say the 22-year-old was arrested after he and his brother, Hud, were involved in a fight outside a Bloomington restaurant, and that the young man was uncooperative and belligerent with officers and medical personnel who were trying to assist with his injuries at the scene and hospital.

The IndyStar reports Mellencamp pleaded guilty last week to public intoxication. However, initial charges of public intoxication and resisting law enforcement were dismissed.
