Purdue Student Dies After Jumping From Apartment Window
Police said the 19-year-old took her own life when she jumped from a window on the top floor of an apartment near campus.

WEST LAFAYETTE, IN — The West Lafayette Police Department said a female student at Purdue University took her own life Saturday during homecoming weekend, jumping from an apartment complex window near campus, WTTV reported. WLPD Lt. Jon Eager initially said the 19-year-old was found at around 2 a.m. Saturday after falling from the top floor of a 10-story complex where she was a resident, according to police.
However, WTTV reported police have since confirmed the young woman is believed to have jumped. Her name was not immediately released.
The student was in the apartment with three other people when the incident took place, according to police. According to the Lafayette Journal & Courier, the student was a resident of California.

The apartment building, known as The Hub, recently opened in August.
