Rexnord Laying Off Majority Of Employees Tuesday

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Tuesday will be the last day on the job for a majority of workers at Rexnord Corp.'s Indianapolis factory. The Associated Press reports union officials said nearly 65 employees will have their final shifts Tuesday, leaving only 11 union members to finish the work as production moves to McAllen, Texas and Monterrey, Mexico factories. When the Milwaukee-based company announced plans to close were last October, the plant had nearly 350 workers, AP reports, adding it's unsure when officials will close the factory.
