Officials Find Body Of 5-Year-Old Andrew Khyang In Pond
IMPD thanks crews, first responders and others who helped in the search for Andrew Khyang.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department report IMPD Missing Persons detectives have located Andrew Khyang, notifying the public around 7:30 p.m. Saturday. WRTV reports the five-year-old's body was found in a south side pond, near his home. The Indianapolis Fire Department tweeted, "A grateful but brokenhearted public safety team appreciates you Indy in the search for little Andrew. Please help us pray for the family." In a release, IMPD thanked IFD, Urban Search and Rescue and all others who assisted in the search for Andrew.

Several local first responders continue searching for a young boy last seen at 1 p.m. in Deer Field Village, just three blocks north of Perry Meridian High School, Indianapolis Fire Department reports. According to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, five-year-old Andrew Khyang has severe autism, and was last seen wearing a white long-sleeve hooded shirt with gray stripes, blue jeans and no shoes. Police describe Andrew as 40-inches tall, 42-pounds and has black hair.

IMPD and IFD have been posting search updates on Twitter, with IFD reporting diving teams are currently searching for the child.
IMPD said the Indianapolis Fire Department, Urban Search and Rescue, IMPD, and K9 Units are currently searching the area.
