State Cops Seeking Capitol Police Officer Applicants

The deadline for applying for the Capitol Police is coming up in February.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The Indiana State Police is accepting applications for Capitol Police officers, but there's a deadline. Applicants must complete the process by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18.

The job starts at $44,497 annually. They offer health care, dental, vision and pharmacy for current and retired employees. Also, the state would contribute to your retirement fund.

  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age when appointed as a police employee (Sept. 28, 2018).
  • Must meet a minimum vision standard (corrected or uncorrected) of 20/50 acuity in each eye and 20/50 distant binocular acuity in both eyes.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license to operate an automobile.
  • Must be a high school graduate as evidenced by a diploma or general equivalency diploma. (GED).
