State Health Commissioner, CDC Expert to Speak About Lung Health

Nationally recognized experts, Dr. Kristina Box, Indiana State Health Commissioner, and Kristy Marynak, the Team Lead for Policy and Partnerships, Office on Smoking and Health for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), will speak at the American Lung Association in Indiana’s LUNG FORCE Expo on September 14.

The LUNG FORCE™ Expo, held at the Marriott Indianapolis East, brings together local healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers to learn about the latest trends, resources and research on lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)/Alpha-1, asthma, and other lung diseases.

“There are more than 800,000 in Indiana who suffer from lung disease, including thousands who battle lung cancer. That’s why this event is more important than ever to communicate new treatments, help people live better with lung disease and share the newest research,” said LaToija Snodgrass, manager of health promotions for the Lung Association. “We are honored to offer presentations by some of the most important voices in lung health in Indiana.”

The event will include presentations from Dr. Box and Marynak, but also several other accomplished local physicians and lung health experts, on topics including quality asthma care, patient/provider relationships, lung cancer, air quality and more. The full agenda is available here.
