Suspect remains in police custody after stabbing several people outside in downtown Indianapolis: Report

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- The suspect in Saturday's stabbing outside the Indianapolis Public Library will remain in police custody while he's treated at the hospital, Indianapolis Fire Department officials say according to WRTV. The news report says four people including the suspect were stabbed after the suspect was seen riding a bike into a park while playing loud noises on a megaphone. When people asked him to turn it off, WRTV says he pulled out a knife and started stabbing people.

The incident, which took place around 4:30 p.m., remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

At least four people are injured after being stabbed near downtown Indianapolis' Public Library on East St. Clair Street, WRTV reports. The news source says police were called to the scene around 4:30 p.m. Saturday. WRTV reports that Indianapolis Fire Department PIO Rita Reith said the attack began in the American Legion Mall and continued across the street into the entrance of the library.

At least four people were taken to the hospital for stab wounds, including the suspect, as Reith says two of the victims are in critical condition, WRTV reports.
