Two Men Charged After Pit Bulls Kill Miniature Horse
Why two men are being charged in Morgan County after two pit bulls attack and kill a neighbor's horse: Report

An investigation began Oct. 29 when Monrovia Police Department officials were notified of two dogs that injured two horses and killed another, according to a Sunday Facebook post by MPD. At the time police say they were looking for one as they had possession of the other. The department was asking for the public's assistance and for anyone to contact the sheriff's department if the other dog was located.
IndyStar reports the second dog, one of the two pit bulls, has since been located, and two men are facing criminal charges after police said the dogs got loose and killed a mini horse - a neighbor's pet. The news outlet adds police began the investigation when a MPD officer responded to a call from the homeowner who said he found his horse dead and two pill bulls, covered in blood, on his property.
Daniel Cannon and Randy Simmers are being charged in Morgan County with multiple misdemeanors, including false informing and dog straying beyond owner's premises, for their part in the deadly incident that resulted in the horse's death from a punctured lung and torn-out stomach.

One pit bull escaped through a property fence, and the other dog was taken by animal control, IndyStar reports.
Police located the second dog the next day at Simmers' Morgan County home when a young girl reportedly told one of the officers the dog was in the garage. This after Simmers told police both Cannon and the dog were not there.
