• Delphi man dies after police chase in Carroll, Tippecanoe counties (jconline.com) — A police pursuit from Delphi ended just north of Lafayette's Schuyler Avenue roundabout, where officers found a 32-year-old man dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The chase began after a traffic stop in Carroll County and continued onto the Hoosier Heartland Highway before stop sticks disabled the vehicle in Tippecanoe County.
   

• Ex-surgeon whose attempted murder charge went national now accused of theft (jconline.com) — Lafayette police recently arrested former orthopedic surgeon Gregory Konrath on suspicion of felony theft, alleging he shoplifted dozens of items from a local Walmart. Konrath, who previously served prison time after a high-profile stalking conviction tied to an alleged murder plot, is on suspended sentences for earlier 2026 thefts, which prosecutors could now seek to revoke.
   

• Clinton County Area Plan Commission to Meet September 1 (clintoncountydailynews.com) — Clinton County's Area Plan Commission will meet Sept. 1 in Frankfort to consider several land-use requests, including a rezoning petition from Lafayette-based Purdy Concrete. Residents can attend to weigh in on agricultural-to-industrial changes and new minor subdivisions proposed in Ross, Kirklin, and Madison townships.
