1. Lafayette man suspected of July 21 rape in Benjamin Crossing addition (jconline.com) — Lafayette residents in the Benjamin Crossing area are learning that a 32-year-old neighborhood man has been arrested in connection with a July 21 home invasion and alleged sexual assault on Chilton Drive. Investigators say DNA results tied the suspect to the case, and he now faces multiple serious charges while awaiting an initial court hearing in Tippecanoe County.
   

2. Dollar General Literacy Foundation grants funds to Indiana (wishtv.com) — Lafayette's Hanna Community Center is among several Indiana organizations receiving Dollar General Literacy Foundation grants, bringing new money for books, technology and other tools to support local students' reading skills. The awards, ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, will help more than 16,500 Hoosiers statewide and include nearby communities like Crawfordsville, Frankfort and Michigantown, with applications for the 2027 grant cycle opening in January.
   

3. Nine-Month Grant Journey Ends in Celebration as Clinton, Carroll Nonprofits Share $1.5 Million in Impact Funding Through Community Foundation (carrollcountydailynews.com) — A major new partnership with the Lafayette YMCA will help reopen the former Clinton County YMCA in Frankfort, restoring child care, fitness and community space that many local families relied on. It's one of several large "Impact Grants" awarded through the Community Foundation to nonprofits in Clinton and Carroll counties, funding projects from recovery housing and transportation to child care, health outreach and inclusive playgrounds.
   

4. Greater Lafayette remembers the fallen 25 years later (wlfi.com) — Greater Lafayette residents, first responders, and local leaders gathered at the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11 with music, wreath-laying, and moments of silence. Lafayette and West Lafayette mayors urged compassion, unity, and service, while a Lafayette Police training specialist who volunteered at Ground Zero shared powerful memories and reminded the community to never forget the sacrifices made.
   

5. Lafayette Jeff football 'speeds' its way to win against Harrison (jconline.com) — Lafayette Jeff football fans saw running back Darrontae "Speedy" Harris score four touchdowns in a dominant 56–14 home win over Harrison, powered by a strong offensive line and opportunistic defense. Quarterback Trysten Barrett added five touchdown passes as Jeff's offense clicked at Scheumann Stadium, with the Bronchos now turning their focus to next week's home conference opener against Richmond.
