• 19-year-old arrested after allegedly shooting a man during an argument in Lafayette (wthr.com) — Police are investigating a Wednesday evening shooting on Lafayette's southeast side that left a 34-year-old man hospitalized in stable condition after being found with a gunshot wound near South Creasy Lane. Officers arrested a 19-year-old suspect, say the argument was not random, and are asking anyone with information to contact Lafayette Police or submit an anonymous tip.
   

• Rector named Lafayette District Commander (journalreview.com) — A longtime Indiana State Police trooper has been promoted to lead the Lafayette District, which oversees patrols and investigations across eight surrounding counties. Lieutenant Ben Rector, a Purdue graduate with 15 years' experience in the district, will now manage local troopers, criminal investigations, and daily operations that affect law enforcement coverage in and around Lafayette.
