• Corrosive hazardous material leaked from semi in Lafayette area (jconline.com) — A hazardous chemical leak from a semi temporarily shut down South Street in Lafayette and left a trail of corrosive material up Interstate 65 to the Indiana 25 exit. • ZF Is Ending 120 Years of Steering Production in Lafayette. The Engineers Get to Stick Around. (theautowire.com) — ZF is shutting down steering manufacturing at its long-running Lafayette north-end plant, with 133 jobs officially lost and production winding down through April 2027, while the engineering center and its 135 positions remain. Local workers, city leaders, and UAW representatives are grappling with the economic fallout, questions about where production is moving, and what the change means for fleets that rely on Lafayette-built steering parts.
• Big 10 Football Coach's 4-YO Son Finally Beats Cancer After Gruesome Battle Since 2023 (essentiallysports.com) — A Lafayette family whose young son Jack was first treated at IU Health Arnett in town is celebrating that he's now cancer-free after intensive care at Riley Children's in Indianapolis. Purdue football's strength coach Nate Rock and his wife describe months of drives between Lafayette and Indy, deep support from the Boilermaker community, and their new commitment to helping other local families facing childhood cancer.
