• Michigan City Assistant Chief of Police addresses Transparency during Flock misuse investigation (abc57.com) — Michigan City residents are being asked for input as police finalize policies for Flock license-plate cameras, with governing rules to be presented at the Sept. 15 City Council meeting. An officer resigned after an internal audit flagged out-of-policy use of the technology, and leaders now promise stronger audits, a transparency portal, and annual public reports on how surveillance tools are used.

Randy Novak of Michigan City joining the presentation as Pawlik transitions from chief to volunteer firefighter alongside a new department leader.
