• Humane Indiana brings in over 70 dogs from hoarding call; police investigating (wgntv.com) — A Munster-based shelter, Humane Indiana, has taken in more than 70 dogs and several cats from a suspected hoarding situation in Merrillville, and many are now readying for adoption. Staff say emptied kennels after storm-related power outages let them step up, and community volunteers flooded in to bathe and comfort the animals. Residents can help by adopting once pets are medically cleared or by donating to support their care.
