• Firm withdraws plan that could have brought data center to Munster (chicagotribune.com) — Plans for a data center on the Munster side of the former Lansing Country Club have been withdrawn, but the developer says it will return with a new proposal after more community engagement. Saxon Partners intends to redesign the Kenmara Technology Park plan, excluding data centers and working closely with Munster residents and officials, after strong public opposition and zoning concerns surfaced this summer.
   

• Braun suspends Indiana gas taxes into October (chicagotribune.com) — Indiana's governor has extended the suspension of state gas taxes into early October, and a Speedway on Ridge Road in Munster was charging $3.45 a gallon on Thursday. The move, funded from state reserves, aims to keep prices lower as residents across Northwest Indiana continue recovering from recent severe storms and flooding, with officials saying road funding will be backfilled later.
