'Avant Guard' takes top honors (readthereporter.com) — Noblesville Creates' first Creative Economy Pitch Night spotlighted local arts ideas, with Eric Thornbury's "Avant Guard" concept for a new performing arts space winning both judges' and audience awards. About 120 people gathered at Conner Prairie as presenters pitched projects to strengthen community, and Noblesville Creates is now seeking local investors to close a roughly $12,000 funding gap for future Pitch Nights.

Ex-Indiana basketball star Todd Leary sentenced in felony fraud coaching case (indystar.com) — A Hamilton Superior Court judge in Noblesville sentenced former IU basketball player Todd Leary to one year of probation and $5,000 restitution after he admitted defrauding a parent who paid for promised coaching and an AAU team. Court records detail how Leary collected nearly $49,000 over more than a year, while providing limited training and repeatedly assuring the parent he would repay the money.
