Today's riddle: What is clean when it is black and dirty when it is white? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Noblesville mother, son charged after 2 dogs die from neglect; another rescued from feces-covered cage (fox59.com) — Two Noblesville residents face felony animal-cruelty charges after police say three severely neglected dogs were found at their Craig Avenue home, with two later dying from starvation and related issues. A third dog, Pepper, was rescued after a local group intervened, and warrants are expected following the Hamilton Superior Court filings, underscoring ongoing concerns about pet welfare and reporting neglect.
2. Wright State Takes the Top Spot in 2026-27 Under Armour #HLMBB Preseason Poll (horizonleague.org) — Noblesville will host the 2027 Horizon League men's and women's basketball championships at the new Riverview Health Arena at Innovation Mile from March 7–9, bringing a major college event to town. While Wright State tops the preseason poll, local fans can already circle dates for when league titles and NCAA bids will be decided here under the #MarchStartsHere banner.
3. Carmel director will be featured in Heartland Film Festival (youarecurrent.com) — A new basketball-themed indie film features several familiar Noblesville backdrops, including scenes shot at Pickleman's Cafe and other local spots. Directed by a Carmel filmmaker, the movie will screen three times during this year's Heartland Film Festival in Indianapolis, giving local residents a chance to spot hometown locations on the big screen while enjoying a feel-good sports story with a nostalgic Hoosiers twist.
4. $1.50 Hot Dog with A Coke; Costco Eyes Westfield With 200 Jobs and Major New Investment (hoosierenquirer.com) — Noblesville's existing Costco warehouse could soon be joined by a new location in nearby Westfield, where the retailer is proposing a 166,700-square-foot store and gas station with up to 200 jobs. For Noblesville residents, the project would add another convenient option for shopping and fuel while signaling continued growth of major retail across northern Hamilton County. City officials are still reviewing design and infrastructure details before final approval.
5. Greenfield-based Leo's Market partners up with Family Express to extend culinary reach statewide (wishtv.com) — Leo's Market & Eatery, which operates a Noblesville location, is turning over its suburban Indianapolis and Lafayette stores to Family Express while continuing to supply its popular kolaches statewide. The change could eventually affect how the Noblesville store is branded or operated, though no closures or exact transition dates have been announced. Leo's leadership frames the move as a way to grow its food-focused offerings.
