Coronavirus Case Confirmed In Hamilton County

Hamilton County has been notified by the Indiana State Department of the Health of the county's first positive case.

Hamilton County was notified by the Indiana State Department of the Health of the county’s first positive case. Dr. Charles Harris, Hamilton County Health Officer, stated, “we have known COVID-19 would arrive in Hamilton County eventually, we were fortunate to have additional time to prepare for our first case. We will continue to work with our federal, state, and local partners to mitigate, and respond to COVID-19.”

The emergence of the county’s first positive case was expected and with proper action additional spread can be slowed. The actions to be taken by individuals and businesses remains the same: 1.Personal Protection, 2. Social Distancing, 3. Environmental Controls. Take these to protect health and slow the rate of transmission of the novel coronavirus COVID-19.
