The Hamilton County Commissioners voted Monday (May 18th) to extend the closure of county buildings to the general public until 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3rd.
“We can’t be too careful with the reopening of our government offices,” County Commissioner Christine Altman says. “At the current moment business is getting done and done well with many of our employees working off site, thus limiting their exposure to COVID-19.”

Access to county buildings is limited to employees, those with an appointment, or those with a court hearing. Voters will also be allowed into the Judicial Center for early voting which starts on Tuesday, May 26th and on Election Day Tuesday, June 2nd.
“Our current policy requires anyone entering the Judicial Center to wear a face mask, and while we still recommend that, we will not require voters to do so,” Altman continues. “We will revisit this issue as well as other safety protocols like the taking of temperatures and the use of hand sanitizer at our next commissioners meeting on Tuesday, May 26th.”
Currently, the only way to enter the Government & Judicial Center is through the East Entrance. Those needing to access the Old Courthouse can do so at the West entrance. Public hours at both buildings is currently limited to 7AM-4:30PM Monday through Friday.
