Hamilton County Youth Service Awards Scheduled For May 13

Winners to be Announced on Social Media on May 13th at 7:00 PM

(NOBLESVILLE, MAY 6, 2020) The 27th Annual Hamilton County Youth Service Awards ceremony will take place virtually on Wednesday, May 13th. Due to COVID-19 concerns and the inability to social distance at the Government & Judicial Center in Noblesville, the ceremony will be prerecorded and posted to Hamilton County’s Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram pages at 7:00 p.m.

The ceremony is sponsored by the Hamilton County Commissioners, the Hamilton County Council on Alcohol and Other Drugs (HCCOAOD), and each of seven high schools in Hamilton County as part of their ongoing efforts to recognize outstanding service by youth in our community.

“We are proud of each of the applicants that have chosen to lead a drug free lifestyle and contribute their time to help make positive changes in the lives of others,” says Monica Greer, executive director of HCCOAOD.

Each school winner was selected by their school’s counseling department. This year’s nominees include Jessica Greven from Carmel High School, Myra Kivett from Fishers High School, Ellie Arrowood from Hamilton Heights High School, Macy Walters from Hamilton Southeastern High School, Sophie Brisco from Noblesville High School, Nick Roberts from Sheridan High School, and Ava Henson from Westfield High School.

A selection committee made up of employees of the probation department screened the applications using a set criterion to select an overall winner of the $1,000 scholarship. Each finalist not selected as the overall winner will receive a $300 scholarship.
