• Plymouth Fire Buddies Program bringing support to children and their families going through the battle of terminal illness (abc57.com) — Plymouth residents can now support local families facing terminal illness through the Fire Buddies program adopted by the Plymouth Fire Department this summer. Volunteers help with everything from meals to hospital bills, and the department is currently fundraising by raffling a pickup truck. You can learn how to get involved or buy raffle tickets via the department's Facebook page.
   

• Chocolate walk returns to Plymouth (max983.net) — Downtown Plymouth will turn into a chocolate-lover's trail during the 8th Annual Chocolate Walk on Saturday, October 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For $20, just 150 participants can visit more than 25 local businesses, collecting chocolate treats with a passport card and container picked up at the Marshall County Museum. Tickets are available locally or via Eventbrite.
   

• Plymouth Board of Works updated on infrastructure work (max983.net) — Plymouth's Board of Works heard that Western Avenue by the industrial park will close to through traffic for three to five days while crews slip-line a sewer line, starting as early as next Monday. A separate project will extend a water main along State Road 17 and Hillcrest to create a loop, improving water quality and fire protection for nearby neighborhoods and businesses.
