• Richmond man launches another bid to have life sentence set aside (pal-item.com) — A Richmond man serving life without parole for a 2018 murder is making another attempt to overturn his sentence, filing a post-conviction relief petition in Wayne Superior Court 2. The Indiana Supreme Court already upheld his conviction earlier this year, and a new evidentiary hearing isn't scheduled until 2029, but the case continues to involve local courts and residents.
   

• Springfield native is new head coach at Earlham (springfieldnewssun.com) — Earlham College in Richmond has hired Daniel Ellis as its new men's basketball head coach, taking over a program that has endured 23 straight losing seasons. Ellis, a longtime assistant with experience at several Division III schools, will start practices in October and says he's focused on team culture, academics, and building a competitive, hard-playing squad.
