• One Dead After Suspect Fleeing Police Crashes Head-On Into Pickup Truck (clintoncountydailynews.com) — Indiana State Police are investigating after a Southport officer continued pursuing a fleeing driver who later crashed head-on into a pickup near Southeastern Avenue, killing a woman and critically injuring the driver. The chase began after IMPD stopped a car near Southport Road and Emerson Avenue but quickly disengaged. The suspect's vehicle caught fire, and he remains hospitalized in critical condition.
• Daughters remember couple after deadly crash involving police chase on Indianapolis' east side (wthr.com) — A Southport police pursuit is under investigation after a fleeing driver crashed head-on into a couple's pickup near Emerson Avenue, killing Lori and Sonny Lawrence. Their daughters are mourning the sudden loss while Indiana State Police review why a Southport officer continued the chase after IMPD backed off. The family remembers the pair as loving, community-minded and deeply devoted to their children and grandchildren.
