• Wabash County United Fund to give away 150 free box fans (yournewslocal.com) — Wabash residents can pick up a free 20-inch box fan this morning, September 15, from 9–11 a.m. at 808 Manchester Ave., thanks to Wabash County United Fund. Any Wabash County household with proof of address is eligible, and local groups will also share tips on heat safety, health, and energy assistance while supplies last.
   

• Betty Irene Cook (yournewslocal.com) — Longtime area resident Betty Irene Cook, who once made her home in Wabash before settling in North Manchester, has passed away at age 82. Remembered as a devoted homemaker, loving grandmother, animal lover, and woman of faith, she will be honored with calling hours Thursday and funeral services Friday at McKee Mortuary in North Manchester.
