• Zionsville man charged with criminal recklessness, having gun as a felon (youarecurrent.com) — A Zionsville man was arrested after police responded to multiple late-night reports of gunshots near The Rail at 1380 Apartments by Boone Village. Officers say they recovered shell casings and a revolver, and prosecutors plan to seek an enhanced penalty because of a prior felony conviction, with an initial court hearing set for Sept. 16.
• Boone County Lawmakers: Local Students Encouraged to Apply for House Internship (clintoncountydailynews.com) — Zionsville-area state representatives Becky Cash and Hunter Smith are urging local college students and recent grads to apply for paid Indiana House Republican internships running January through April 2027. Participants work full-time at the Statehouse, gain hands-on experience with legislation, and network with civic and industry leaders. Applications are online and due Oct. 31.
• Local high school students among the top in High School Hustle competition (youarecurrent.com) — Zionsville Community High School's Cruz Weidner topped the national High School Hustle competition, earning more than $100,000 from his landscaping business and setting a new record for the program. Several other Zionsville students also ranked among the top earners, showcasing how local teens are turning side hustles like coin sales and curb painting into serious money and real-world experience.
