IMPD Says 27-Year-Old Man Shot And Killed On Northeast Side
Rodriquez Anderson, 27, was found dead with an apparent gunshot wound on Jan. 3 in the 3600 block of Schofield Avenue: Report

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials report the first homicide of 2018, saying they were called to the 3600 block of N. Schofield Avenue around 9 a.m. on Jan. 3 where a person was found unresponsive in a car. IMPD says officers found a male, later identified as 27-year-old Rodriguez Anderson, in the front passenger seat of a car that was parked on the street, before IEMS arrived and pronounced him dead. Officials say homicide detectives were called to the scene and noticed an apparent gunshot on Anderson's body.
The Wednesday morning shooting comes just days after the city ended 2017 with more than 150 homicides.
IMPD says Marion County Forensic Services Agency also responded to help with identifying and collecting potential evidence, and the Marion County Coroner’s Office (MCCO) will be assisting and will determine the exact manner and cause of death.
