Ames Assistant City Manager Finalist Drops Out
There are just three finalists for the assistant city manager position.

One of the four final candidates vying for the Ames Assistant City Manager position has withdrawn.
Jason Slowinski was slated to interview in Ames this week and meet the public 4 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday at . Slowinski, Des Plaines interim city manager and assistant manager, already accepted another job.

“With the high-caliber candidates we have attracted to this position, it is not unusual for these professionals to be considering other job openings,” City Manager Steve Schainker said in a prepared statement. “We have been very pleased with the depth of talent, experience, and skills our finalists bring with them.”
The three other finalists are , the assistant city administrator of Gardner, Kan., Jacqueline , the former town administrator for Estes Park, Colo., and Angela , the deputy city manager for East Point, Ga.

The person hired would fill a vacancy left when current Assistant City Manager Sheila Lundt retires in April.
