Ames' Homecoming Spoiled by Fort Dodge in 28-20 Loss
The Dodgers slip past the Little Cyclones in a gritty game.
The Ames High football team fell to Fort Dodge 28-20 in front of a large homecoming crowd.
Scoring went back and forth through the first half, as neither team could gain control of the game. Ames was only 3 for 13 on third down conversions, and had 6 punts in the game.
Ames receiver Luke Wandling left the game in the first quarter with a serious leg injury, and will be added to the list of Little Cyclones who are out for the rest of the season. Injuries could have contributed to Ames' 11 for 35 on passing attempts, and only 94 yards through the air. Hanson Breitling once again played well, with two touchdowns in the first half.
