This fall, Iowa landowners are asked to help track monarch migration - (messengernews.net) — Ames-based monarch researchers are asking Iowa landowners, including those around town, to report spots where monarch butterflies gather on trees or sheltered areas during their fall migration. By emailing locations and photos or using the Project Monarch app to detect Bluetooth-tagged butterflies, residents can directly support conservation science and help map critical roosting sites across Iowa this September.
   

5. Iowa State coasts past Southeast Missouri State in season opener (statenews.net) — Iowa State fans in Ames saw a strong season opener as new quarterback Jaylen Raynor accounted for four touchdowns in a 38-10 win over Southeast Missouri State. The Cyclones' defense dominated at home with 12 tackles for loss and six sacks, giving new head coach Jimmy Rogers a convincing debut at Jack Trice Stadium.
