AMES, Iowa, Aug. 16, 2012 – Innova Ideas & Services will relocate its marketing services staff to Des Moines and end its 12-year presence on Main Street in Ames effective Sept. 15, Sigler Companies executives announced today.
In a strategic realignment of Innova and its parent Sigler Companies, agency employees will consolidate in the Innova office at 516 Third St. in downtown Des Moines, said Sigler Companies president Beth Cross. Others will move from Innova Ames and Innova Des Moines to concentrate the Sigler presence at 3100 S. Riverside Drive in Ames.
The reorganization was guided by an employee-led process, Cross said. Functional teams met to offer ideas on the future of Innova and how it operates. Uniting employees in a single location was seen as a way to increase collaboration, and to become more efficient and effective in work internally and with clients.

The restructuring will redeploy the “right talent in the right place,” said Cross, and will not reduce staff or necessitate job cuts at either Sigler or Innova.
Total employee count will be unchanged between the two Sigler Companies business units: Innova, which provides full-scale creative and marketing solutions, and Sigler, the print, apparel and merchandise production arm. Jobs based at the Sigler headquarters facility near the Ames airport will increase from 138 to 194 and bring the total of Des Moines-based Innova employees to 49.

The move is part of a companywide restructuring and reorganization to accommodate new client growth and increased demands from existing clients, said Cross. Sigler Companies has emerged from the broad economic downturn of 2008, she said, and investment this year in technology and repositioning of talent will prime both business units for accelerated growth.
A strengthened Sigler presence in the state-of-the-art production facility it has occupied since 2007 will offer more opportunities to clients and ensure that Sigler Companies continues to be an active corporate citizen, Cross said.
“Sigler Companies has more than 50 years of history in Ames,” she said. “We have outgrown location after location, and this latest move is just the first, outward indication of an exciting new plan that points the way to future growth in our home community, outward.”
