Boil Advisory Issued for Residents South of Ames
About 300 customers are without water due to a water main break that happened Wednesday night.

Xenia Rural Water District officials are advising customers immediately south of Ames to boil water after a water main broke Wednesday evening.
About 300 customers immediately south of Ames are affected and reportedly without water. A boil advisory has also been put into place because there is a chance that Xenia water could be contaminated with bacteria. Water should be boiled for at least one full minute before it's used for drinking and cooking.
The affected area is generally located south of Highway 30 between the Boone and Polk county lines and west of Interstate 35.
