...with Herman Cain and Mitt Romney leading the pack in Iowa. The Iowa Poll creates a national buzz because it is consistently accurate.

And some pundits are now picking up and what this blog has been telling you for some time...the rules of winning the Iowa Caucus have been changed drastically. Neither Cain nor Romney has extensive organization in Iowa. Iowa voters are paying attention to the national news and the debates.

But both Romney and Cain must consider stepping up their Iowa efforts at this time to go for the knock-out. 

For Romney, a win in Iowa followed by a win in New Hampshire finishes the race.

Cain's national strategy is articulated by his Iowa strategist, Steve Grubbs: Cain positions himself as the conservative in the race around which all other conservatives should rally. Cain isn't campaigning against Romney...he's campaigning to take votes away from Bachmann and Perry.
