1. An authentic jersey-If the sports fan you're buying for doesn't know if their team is winning or losing or who they have played in the last few weeks, an authentic jersey is not the route to go. Wearing a jersey is an open invitation for anyone who loves, hates, or knows anything about the team you support to bombard you with talk of league standings, trades, or how much better their team is than yours. Authentic jerseys are a must have for any true fan.
2. Tickets to see their favorite team play in a hostile venue- Cubs-Cardinals, Packers-Bears,Tar Heels-Blue Devils or Lakers-Celtics. Chances are, your sports fan has already been to a few home games, so get some tickets for an away game. This summer I saw my (World Series Champion) St. Louis Cardinals take on the Brewers in Milwaukee at a time in the season when both teams were fighting for the division lead. The Cardinals lost, and the post game heckling was abundant but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. It doesn't necessarily need to be one of their favorite teams, it could be tickets to any of the rivalries mentioned. Any sports fan loves to witness a good rivalry
3. A Fathead- It's a powerfull thing to experience a life-sized picture of Adrian Peterson running toward you. It is especially alarming if you witnessed this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZx7Y6LyxR4. I have a Fathead and it's truly the only decoration I need in my room.

4. Team Headwear- Lots of teams (or vendors not affiliated with a team) sell somewhat unique headwear to represent a sports team. I own an retro leather football helmet with the modern Vikings logo on it. Most people I know think it looks stupid, but I (a true Vikings fan) love to wear it. There are a series of hats made of foam that are available on different websites around the Internet like the Packer cheese head, or a hat molded to look like Baltimore's raven. If you have a Major League Baseball fan to shop for chances are they don't have all of the alternate hats their team wears throughout the season.
5. PINK sports wear for women- Lots of the sports clothing sold for women has a fairly masculine look, and is just made in womens sizes. Victoria's Secret has an MLB and NFL collection in which they sell licensed gear for nearly every team.
