Have You Heard About This Bad Economy?

The economy is in bad shape, but the media is bored with it.

White House reporter Jake Tapper is disappointed that the media is not focusing on the economy and the war in Afghanistan during this campaign season.

The number of unemployed and underemployed continue to plague the minds of voters.  Even in the state of Iowa, with a relatively low unemployment rate, voters are uneasy.  I think that's because we don't feel there's much opportunity for income growth currently.

So why the lack of media focus?   Many right-wingers like myself will tell you that the media seems to frame the narrative around whatever the Democrats want--but I think it's a bit bigger issue than that.

I think the media likes to talk about two things:  sex and racism.   And Democrats tend to be more willingly to shape their narrative around those topics.

On the former, not the latter, topic, the most poignant response to the controversy around Todd Akin's comments comes from a political operative who is also a rape victim.
