The Fall Distraction Game

The President can't talk about the economy, so expect the attacks on Romney to increase as we head toward the election.

Democrats who were basking in the euphoria of the just-completed national convention got administered a rather quick shot of "buzzkill" today:  a jobs report with slower-than-expected growth and an alarming number of folks who have stopped looking for jobs.

Harry Reid can try to blame Republicans publicly but I know that privately, this report concerns every Democrat.

For President Obama, this election can't be a referendum on his achievements.  People need to be voting against Mitt Romney.

That means daily talking points demonizing Romney in an attempt to get the media (and voters) talking about something...anything...other than the economy.

Today's point?  Romney didn't talk about the troops in his acceptance speech.
