Tara and I had the chance to catch "West Side Story" on the big screen last week in a local theater in observation of the 50th-anniversary of the film.
The highest praise that I can give it: it made me hate every film advertised on posters outside of my local theater. "West Side Story" is Hollywood at its best; I can't think of anything that is coming out this year that even approaches the quality of this film. This type of movie-making is meant to stun audiences with a variety of emotions that range from outright amazement to joy to sadness.
For those who missed the big screen re-release, "West Side Story" is being released on Blu-Ray, and "Big Hollywood" is raving about this version.
