"When your agenda is out of touch with the morals of J.C. Penney..."

When your agenda is out of touch with JC Penney and Archie comics, it's time to reassess.

From Tara:

When I was a kid, my grandmother worked in the "men's furnishings" department at J.C. Penney. I have vivid recollections of her unusual cackle traveling halfway across the store as my Mom dragged my Dad in for a suit fitting. And of course, I've helped various male friends purchase interview suits at Penney's. It was always the safe, boring place to buy clothes.  Nothing too cool, nothing too outrageous--the place where your grandparents and parents might shop for "good values."

And now JCP is arousing the ire of an anti-gay group for being at the forefront of advocating for marriage equality?  Seriously?

I know where I am headed the next time I wander into the shopping mall.  Hooray for JCP.

The comments at the post above are worth reading.  I lifted the title quote from this one, by "Mrs. Beeton": "You know, when your agenda is out of touch with the morals of J.C. Penn[e]y and Archie comicstwo of the dullest and most innocuous things in America, it's probably time to reassess what kind of world you think you live in."
