City of Ames policy on storm damage requires a certain percentage of trees be damaged in identified zones to provide curbside service or open public storm debris drop sites. In this instance, the threshold was not reached. City crews will continue to remove tree limbs in neighborhoods from trees in the public right of way (typically the area between the street and sidewalk). The crews will not haul away other storm debris. Homeowners should contact private tree services or self-haul storm debris to the yard waste disposal sites:

A list of licensed tree surgeons as well as the City policy on storm-damaged trees is available on the City’s website at www.CityOfAmes.org/Trees
