Repairs to the sanitary sewer main along 18th Street at the intersection with Clark Avenue will begin between Wednesday and Friday, July 28 and 30, weather permitting. The intersection of Clark Avenue and 18th Street will be closed to traffic during these repairs, which are expected to take five to 10 days to complete.

The City of Ames has contracted with Municipal Pipe Tool L.L.C. to perform these repairs to deficient sanitary sewer and deteriorated manhole sections. The goal of these repairs is to fix aging infrastructure and reduce sanitary sewer backups in the area.
All are encouraged to take note of this construction activity in the area and allow extra travel time as delays may occur. As always, caution should be exercised when traveling through the construction area. For safety reasons, please keep children and pets away from the construction zone.
