City Of Ames: Eighth And Burnett Intersection To Close

The intersection of Eighth Street and Burnett Avenue will be closed to traffic beginning Wednesday, Oct. 6, to allow reconstruction of the road. The intersection of Eighth Street and Kellogg Avenue will reopen to traffic by the end of the day today (Oct. 5).

The City of Ames has contracted with Manatts Inc. and its subcontractor Jet Drain to complete this project, which will begin with pavement removal followed by repair of selected sanitary sewer/storm sewer pipes and replacement of manhole and storm sewer intakes. The work at the intersection is expected to be completed within one week.

All are encouraged to take note of this construction activity in the area and allow extra travel time as delays may occur. For safety reasons, please keep children and pets away from the construction zone.
