Eighth Street from Kellogg to Douglas avenues closed to traffic to allow reconstruction of the road. This closure includes the intersection of Eighth Street and Kellogg Avenue. Alley access to Eighth Street between Kellogg and Douglas avenues also is closed.

The City of Ames has contracted with Manatts Inc. and its subcontractor Jet Drain to complete this project, which will begin with pavement removal followed by repair of selected sanitary sewer pipes and replacement of manhole and storm sewer intakes. The work at the intersection is expected to be completed and reopened by Saturday, Oct. 2. Completion of the work on Eighth Street between Kellogg and Douglas avenues is expected to take five to six weeks. 

All are encouraged to take note of this construction activity in the area and allow extra travel time as delays may occur. For safety reasons, please keep children and pets away from the construction zone.
