The intersection of Eighth Street and Wilson Avenue will be closed to traffic beginning Monday, Aug. 9, weather permitting. This closure is necessary to complete improvements to the road. Access to Eighth Street from Grand and Clark avenues will be open during this project stage. The intersection of Ninth Street and Wilson Avenue will be open to local traffic starting Friday, Aug. 6.

The City of Ames has contracted with Manatts Inc. to complete these improvements. The contractor will begin pavement removal on Monday. On Tuesday, Aug. 10, Manatts’ subcontractor Jet Drain will start repair of selected sanitary sewer pipes and replace a manhole and storm sewer intake. This project stage is expected to take six to eight days to complete.
All are encouraged to take note of this construction activity in the area and allow extra travel time as delays may occur. For safety reasons, please keep children and pets away from the construction zone.
