City of Ames Searching for Historic Preservation Nominations

Do you know of something old made new again?

The is seeking nominations for the 2012 Preservation Awards.

The program recognizes a variety of historic preservation activities, including work on building exteriors, site work and more.

The nominated project must be located in Ames and have undergone some type of historic rehabilitation or restoration and be at least 50 years old. Work on that object has to have been done within the last three years.

Find nomination forms at the Department of Planning and Housing, 515 Clark Ave., or the Planning Division page at www.cityofames.org. Nominations should be submitted by noon Tuesday, Feb. 14 to the City of Ames, Department of Planning and Housing, 515 Clark Ave., Ames, IA, 50010, or by email to tmoen@city.ames.ia.us.

Awards will be given this spring.
