Eight File For Ames Community School Board Seats

Incumbents face challengers for all five seats.

A total of eight people have filed to run for five seats in the Sept. 13 Ames Community School Board election.

Six people have filed to run for the four, four-year seats.

Incumbents, Mary Jurenka, Francis Todey and Dan Woodin will be challenged by Rodney Briggs, Lucas Deardorff and Teresa Simpson. Incumbent Paul Sodders didn't file. Filing for the seats closed at the end of the day Thursday, Aug. 4.

Incumbent John Hascall, who was appointed to fill an unexpired term, will be challenged for his two-year term. Mike Espeset filed to face Hascall for the two-year seat, according to information provided by the Ames Community School District.
