An Afternoon with Ed & Janet Kaizer

The Collegiate/Wesley Fine Arts Series hosts “An Afternoon with Ed & Janet Kaizer” on Sunday afternoon, October 7, at 3:00 p.m.   The first part of the program includes music by Chopin, Debussy, Bartok and Beethoven.  The second part of the program features various styles of jazz including pieces by Joplin and Ellington. 


Edward Kaizer holds his doctorate in piano performance from Indiana University and is a professor of music at Bradley University directing keyboard studies. He has performed as recital soloist and orchestral soloist in cities throughout the United States and Europe including London, Prague, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Berlin, Nurnberg, Freidrichshafen, Washington, Chicago, St. Louis, and Green Bay.


Janet Kaizer received her music degrees from the University of Illinois.   Her musical background includes classical and jazz piano performance and sacred organ music. She has performed classical piano and organ concerts in the U.S., Mexico and Europe, and she won the title of "World Champion Old-Time Piano Player" in 1984 and 1985. She currently teaches music at Bradley University and is well known for her keyboard performance and improvisational skills at the First United Methodist church of Peoria where she is the organist.

The Collegiate/Wesley Fine Arts Series is sponsored by Collegiate United Methodist Church and Wesley Foundation, 2622 West Lincoln Way, Ames, Iowa.  In this, its inaugural year, the Collegiate/Wesley Fine Arts Series is presenting several concerts ranging from the traditionally classical to the contemporary and featuring both ensembles and individual artists. A reception with refreshments and the opportunity to greet the performers follows each performance.  The Collegiate/Wesley Fine Arts Series is financially supported by memorial gifts and other contributions. All of the concerts are free and open to the public.
