Robots in Space - June Lecture Ames Area Astronomers

Join Evan Zerby and Jim Bonser in their exploration of the future of mans robotic ambassadors to the universe. Last year they rocked the house with tales of epic failures and near misses! This year expect a fun filled evening as Evan unravels the little known facts about "The Twins" Those robust little Mars Rovers, New Horizons, James Web, Dawn, and asteroid mining! Then Jim will twist our minds with the confusing world of "Near Misses" and "almost failed" space craft to give you the facts about how triumphant these crafts have come to be. From a simple broken antenna, to "oops I ground the mirror wrong, perfectly" Jim will bring about how we overcome adversity from a few billion miles away.
