First Ames Assistant City Manager Finalist Named

The current assistant city manager will retire in April.

More than 160 people have applied to replace current Assistant City Manager Sheila Lundt, who has served the city for more than 27 years.

Lundt retires April 16.

The first candidate is Melissa Mundt, an graduate. She will give a public presentation from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday in .

Mundt is the assistant city administrator – community development director for Gardner, KA. She also served as Management Analyst for the Village of Lombard, IL. Mundt has a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Iowa State University, and a master’s degree in public administration from University of Kansas, in Lawrence, KA.

More candidates will be announced as the screening process moves ahead.
