Five Things You Can Do in Ames This Weekend

Looking for something to do in Ames this weekend? Here's a few.

1) Lost Ducks at the Library

The will be the site of a dance that interprets 28,800 rubber ducks that were lost at sea. Orchesis I dance company students, ISU dance faculty and national guest artists will participate. This event is a preview of , which was inspired by “Moby-Duck.” The preview performance begins at 2 p.m. today.

2) Cyclone Pet Partners Kick-Off

The will host the kick off to Cyclone Pet Partners 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

The event will allow participants to meet therapy dogs that children will read to. The Cyclone Pet Partners program will be held every Sunday in February from 2 to 4 p.m.

 

3) The Sleeping Beauty Ballet

Moscow Festival Ballet will perform The Sleeping Beauty 3 p.m. Sunday at . Watch the 50-member ballet dance through an enchanted forest “where good triumphs over evil through a single kiss.” Tickets are $31 to $35. They are $42 to $47 with Ticketmaster fees. Read more here.

 

4) Mens Basketball

Men's Basketball will play Kansas 1 p.m. Saturday at Hilton Coliseum. Tickets are sold out but you can listen to the game here.

 

5) Learn about CSA

will hold a Community Supported Agriculture fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Farms that offer produce and other goods through community supported agriculture programs including Farm to Folk, Mustard Seed Community Farm, Small Potatoes Farm, Tabletop Farm and The Homestead, will be available.
