How Many Flowers in this Ames Window?
Brian Smith put up this floral Main Street display in January and has slowly added decorations hoping to bring shoppers indoors.
Guess how many flowers are in this window.

He put up the display about two weeks ago to draw people inside the seasonal gift and floral shop where people will also find plants, cards and candy.

The mix of artificial red, white and pink Valentine's Day heart floral design is a take off of a window display Smith created in the past.
He made a six-foot heart and asked people to guess how many flowers were inside. He remembers it being somewhere between 1,600 to 1,800.

This heart probably has close to 1,000.
Smith, a floral designer, has taken over window shop designing duties since he started working there 27 years ago. He became Evert's fifth owner in 1997. (The shop is celebrating its 90th year.)
While the flowers in the window display definitely say Valentine's Day, Smith recommends buying a more exotic bunch from the coolers inside.
βThey are not screaming Valentine's Day, but they are long lasting and people can enjoy them. Not everyone is a red and white fan,β Smith said. Β
