Ideas Sought for Brookside and other Ames City Parks Thursday
Ames Parks & Recreation Commission is looking for public input on capital improvements for all parks, especially Brookside Park, in two meetings Thursday.

The City of Ames wants to know what people want to see in all city parks and specifically what people think about possible park improvements at .
Two public input sessions will be held at Thursday, one on general park improvements begins at 4 p.m. The session specific to Brookside starts at 6 p.m. in room 235.
During the Brookside meeting, people will be asked about the opportunity to redevelop the portion of the park that is east of Squaw Creek. Right now that area has four tennis courts, a basketball court, a practice tennis backboard, horseshoe courts and green open space. Recommendations on park redevelopments will be made at the January 2012 Ames City Council meeting.

The 4 p.m. meeting is the Parks & Recreation Commission's annual input meeting for capital improvements. They aren't making any decisions on projects at the meeting, but the commission does want to hear any and all ideas people might have, said Nancy Carroll, Ames Director of Parks & Recreation.
